Connect an Alexa Echo Dot (Voice Assistant/Streamer) into Source Input 1 and let Alexa take priority over whatever is connected to Source Input 2. Source 2 is heard until a signal is detected from Source 1 at which point the zone will instantly (less than 0.2 seconds) be switched to Source 1. Our proprietary auto-detect-and-switch circuit detects input signals at significantly lower volume levels than standard auto-sensing circuits and without creating "false positives".
Use the Delay knob to set how much time should pass without a signal from Source 1, from a couple of seconds to a few minutes, before returning to Source 2.
A rotary volume control is provided on the front panel, but for most installs this will be set to a fixed "maximum" position when each of the connected sources includes a variable volume output.
Common connections for Source 2 include the variable audio output from a TV or the variable audio output from a zone in a distributed home audio system.
40 watts X 2 into 8 ohms or 70 watts X 2 into 4 ohms means you can connect one or two pairs of 8 ohm speakers and achieve more than enough volume, even in large rooms.
Made with a 6 foot captive power cable. L-brackets included for optionally mounting behind a TV, nightstand, or just about anywhere else in the room.
